ERGONOMIC HANDLE:
FOR PRECISE GUIDANCE. With the ergonomic handle, you can keep a firm grip on your tool and carry out cuts precisely, even when dealing with very hard stone. The curved handle offers you an optimised grip position and the highest level of comfort when working.
PRE-SEPARATION AIR FILTRATION SYSTEM:
STIHL long-life air filtration systems with pre-separation achieve perceptibly longer filter life compared with conventional filter systems. Air drawn in is swirled. The larger, heavier particles are ejected. The pre-cleaned air is routed to the air filter via the pre-separator duct.
MAGNESIUM GUARD:
LIGHTWEIGHT AND STABLE. The cutting wheel guard ensures that you are not hit by flying cut material or cooling water from the cutting wheel. The cast magnesium guard is very lightweight and robust.
STIHL 2-MIX ENGINE:
HIGHLY POWER-EFFICIENT. With the STIHL 2-MIX engine, you can reduce exhaust emissions and fuel consumption, and therefore operating costs. This 2-stroke engine is low-maintenance and uses fuel efficiently even at high power levels. Use a mixture of petrol and engine oil as fuel. The STIHL 2-MIX engine complies with the strict EU Stage V emissions directive.
STIHL ELECTRONIC WATER CONTROL (A):
The electronic water control system can be operated via simple buttons while the engine is running. The water then switches on and off during cutting automatially, depending on engine speed. The water volume can be regulated by simply pressing the plus / minus buttons, ensuring optimum dust suppression at the touch of a button.
STIHL QUICKSTOP CUTTING WHEEL BRAKE:
FOR MORE VERSATILITY. In confined spaces, it may be useful to open out the wheel guard when using your cut-off machine, so you can then also cut upwards. To ensure that you work as safely as possible even in this kind of situation, if sufficient kickback occurs the sensor-controlled STIHL QuickStop cutting wheel brake stops the cutting wheel in a fraction of a second.
TWO-STAGE BELT DRIVE:
Thanks to a two-stage belt drive, the TS 440 is characterized by a high torque on the cutting wheel. It allows the users to apply higher feed force while reducing the chance of bogging the engine.
MANUAL FUEL PUMP:
FOR FEWER STARTING STROKES. The manual fuel pump reduces the number of strokes required to start the tool, making the start-up process quicker and easier This is particularly helpful after longer breaks in operation. To use it, actuate the pump several times before starting. This will ensure that there is enough petrol in the carburettor when starting.
